Based in Fairbanks, Alaska, I specialize in photographing families, couples, and intimate weddings. My work is rooted in storytelling — celebrating authentic connection and the wild landscapes that surround us. Each session is created with the same intentional artistry I bring to my fine art prints, turning fleeting moments into lasting heirlooms.

Portraits Rooted in Nature & Connection

Whether it’s an intimate wedding in Alaska, a family session among the fireweed in Fairbanks, or a maternity session in the quiet of the northern landscape, my work is rooted in capturing your connection to each other and the wild places that surround you — creating images that feel timeless and true to your story

HEY THERE! I’M MAKENZIE.

I am a Fairbanks Alaska photographer serving Denali and the Interior. I photograph couples and families and I take on a small number of intimate weddings and elopements each year. I hold a BFA in photography, and years of landscape work taught me to read light and honor place. I create photographs that feel calm and natural in the moment and beautiful on your walls, and I offer fine art prints so the Alaska you love can live at home with you.

Sessions are relaxed and guided. We choose locations that fit the season and your story, from Creamer’s Field in Fairbanks to the foothills near Denali. I help with timing and outfits, I offer simple prompts, and I give room for real connection. You receive a thoughtful mix of close moments and wider frames so your people and the landscape live in the same story.

My work has traveled as far as Rome, but my favorite stories are right here at home. If you would like to know how I met my husband in Alaska and why I believe photographs should feel like home, read my story.

"To be alive is to be connected—to each other, to the land, to the fleeting moments that shape us. Through portraits and wild places, I capture what it means to truly live."

The Art &

Print Shop

Everything in this shop begins with a photograph. The prints, postcards, and little pieces I create are inspired by the places I’ve explored — in Alaska and beyond — and the stories I’ve captured along the way. This space is about celebrating connection, nature, and the quiet beauty of the world around us.

Many of my clients love pairing their family or wedding photos with fine art prints from my shop, creating gallery walls that reflect both their personal story and the landscapes they love. I also help my clients turn their own photographs into artwork for their homes, so their memories live not only on a screen but as meaningful pieces they see and enjoy every day.
